Anupassanā

One of the four main Buddhist meditation practices, together with samatha, samādhi and paññā.  It translates as contemplation, examination, investigation, and refers to the meditation practice of looking deeply into worldly phenomena with one’s mind’s eye to identify the phenomenon’s true nature and true characteristics.
